The seventh – and final – pre-season friendly for The New Saints was at Marston Road against the Northern Premier League Premier Division side, Stafford Rangers.
Although the visitors took the lead courtesy of Adrian Cieslewicz, the hosts hit back in the second-half to win 2-1.
I was in the directors’ box for the game and one of the officials there told me an interesting fact.
The scorer of the Rangers’ penalty, Jake Charles, is the grandson of the legendary John Charles.
As always, I recorded a behind-the-scenes video from the game, including match footage.
You may notice that the home team played in two different kits. They not only completely changed the eleven players at the break but also the strip as well.
