On The River Stour For The First Angling Session Of 2021

No football at the moment, due to the Welsh Government postponing all games, so after my garden birding I went fishing.

You can follow the session via the video below.

I fished with a 9’ John Wilson Masterline Debut rod and a Shimano 3500 reel, loaded with 4lb Maxima Chameleon.

Via a loop-to-loop knot, there was a section of 1lb 6oz Ultima Virage fluorocarbon.

The lead was a 1/4 ounce bomb, with a size 6 shot and 5mm bead. The hook was a Drennan Super Specialist size 18.

  1. Happy New Year Stewart. My brother John and I were out yesterday on the Shropshire Union Canal at Chester yesterday. The target species was the pike. Home win for Esox but I did spot a kingfisher.

    1. Happy New Year, Dave. At least you’ve got your first blank out of the way! It’s all uphill from now on!
Great aren’t they, kingfishers. We certainly see our fair share as anglers don’t we.
