Although my body is suffering after playing football yesterday, not enough to prevent me from going fishing this evening.
It’s been a mild spell for a few days and that was reflected in the water temperature, which was up to 12.2C.
I caught a few perch and one small roach. Nothing massive but all good fun, and it’s always great to be at the water’s edge, regardless.
I fished with the following tackle: John Wilson 9’ Masterline Debut rod and a Shimano DL2500FA reel.
The reel was loaded with 4lb Maxima Chameleon and this went straight through to a Drennan Super Specialist size 16 hook, which was attached via a blood knot.
A size 6 Dinsmores shot and a 5mm ESP shock bead created the six-inch hook-length, with a 1/4 ounce bomb above the bead.
I fished with two maggots over maggots and brown crumb.
