Perch And Roach On An Early Morning Canal Session

I was up very early again this morning – well before first light – so I decided to make the most of it by going fishing.

Working from home always has more flexibility, especially when it’s a day that doesn’t have a fixed schedule.

The rod I fished with was a 12’ Greys Prodigy TX and the reel was a Shimano DL2500FA, loaded with 4lb Maxima Chameleon.

Joined by a loop-to-loop knot, there was a five feet length of Ultra Virage fluorocarbon 2.5lb line to a Drennan Super Specialist size 18 hook.

The float was a Drennan 3BB crystal waggler. I fished with single maggot on the hook over brown crumb / loose maggots.
