With a European game on Thursday, it’s going to be a busy week. However, I’ll still be fishing, albeit shorter sessions.
After a day at the football ground, it was back home, something to eat and then out to wet a line for a couple of hours.
It was a very slow session and I caught just the one fish. Sometimes the going is tough and if we can just get on the right side of the line, it’s a result.
I fished with the following tackle: Fox Barbel Specialist 1.5 test curve rod and a Shimano DL2500FA reel.
The reel was loaded with 4lb Maxima Chameleon joined to 2lb 8oz Ultima Virage fluorocarbon by a loop-to-loop knot.
The business end was a Drennan Super Specialist size 16 hook, which was attached via a blood knot.
A size 6 Dinsmores shot and a 5mm ESP shock bead created the six-inch hook-length, with a 1/4 ounce bomb above the bead.
I fished with a single white maggot on the hook and fed balls of brown crumb laced with mixed maggots.
