The disappointment of the first-team’s draw against Barry Town United a few days earlier, was very quickly put to bed, when the TNS FC U-19s beat their south Walian counterparts in the FAW Youth Cup semi-final.
The game, played at Aberystwyth Town’s Park Avenue, was always going to be a very tough one for The New Saints, as going into the fixture, Barry had remained unbeaten all season.
I appreciated the 2-0 win, of course, but more than that I enjoyed the whole day. From the journey through some of Wales’ most spectacular scenery, to the match itself, it was all good.
