๐Ÿ October 2024

๐ŸŽฃ A very wet start to October but the angling continues

They say that things come in threes and after my umbrella broke in the rain, I lost a decent fish and slipped on the mud, banging my leg into a tree, I was hoping that was the end of all the negative stuff for this session.

I did go on to catch perch and roach but, although the landing net was wet, it was due to the rain rather than the fish themselves.

You can follow the session in the video.

Tackle, bait and tactics

Greys Prodigy TX 12โ€™ rod. Shimano 3500M reel. Maxima Chameleon 4lb line.

Drennan 1.2g waggler. Drennan Super Specialist size 10 hook.

A sharp drop-off from the margins, so fishing in six-feet of water, just off the rod tip.

I threw out a couple of balls of brown crumb and prawns initially, then fed according to the bites, which were few and far between on this occasion.

Nature notes while fishing

Song thrush on the path as I approached the pool.

Four ring-necked parakeets seen, and heard, in flight.
