October 1
Single mistle thrush in high flight across the valley, from west to east.
October 6
Returning home late evening, a fox crossed Longfellow Road and on to the green.
October 7
Visited one of the local badger setts. Lots of freshly dug soil and my dog went wild at the smells, running around with his nose on the ground.
October 8
Heard ring-necked parakeets in flight over woodland on the western ridge towards Baggeridge.
October 9
First redwings of the autumn, a flock of c.10 in north to south flight.
October 11
Two separate groups of ravens in flight – three and four.
Small tortoiseshell in flight, a good sighting after last nightโs hard frost.
Single raven in flight seen during dusk walk.

Morning walk along the golf course.

Three ravens in flight across the valley, from east to west.

Carrion crow perched on low fence on bungalow in Wordsworth Road.

Eight carrion crows in flight across Wordsworth Road.
Eight redwings in flight across the valley.
Two low ravens in flight south to north.

Juvenile badger in the early hours on grass alongside Sandyfields Road.
