🎣 Angling | Fishing a new stretch on the Staffordshire & Worcestershire Canal
After a couple of afternoon angling sessions due to work, it was back to an early rise this morning. With the alarm set for 5.15 a.m., I was on the Staffordshire & Worcestershire Canal at first light.
I fished a new area and, when I say that, I mean I’ve never been there before. Ever. It was a decent walk from the car and that’s the key. I would say most anglers don’t stray too far from where they park.
For some, it might be due to mobility issues. For others though, it’s the convenience and, of course, I totally get that. It’s good, though, to stretch our wings and explore. You never know what you might come across.
In this instance, I caught two roach in opening casts and then not even one bite in the remaining three hours that I was there. That’s the way it goes sometimes but at least I wasn’t a blanker and there’s always another day. There’s always tomorrow.
