I switched to a size 12 Drennan Super Specialist and three maggots in my previous Staffs/Worcs outing and it’s done the trick, with less fish lost as a result of a poor hook connection.
I netted a few bream and perch and it was a lovely pleasant start to the day, not only because of the fish caught, but also that I was there enjoying the dawn.
Getting up so early with the alarm took me back to last century (sounds a long time ago, when you put it like that) when I’d be doing the same thing, as I fished the Staffs/Worcs a lot then as well.
