Although I didn’t catch any needles from this particular haystack, I did get lots of roach.
As you’d expect, they were a better stamp of fish as well, compared to some of the maggot sessions I’ve done on there.
I also saw a ring-necked parakeet in the wood opposite where I fished.
On the water itself, two newly-hatched coots were with their parents.
Angling and nature, they are perfect bedfellows as far as I’m concerned.
