A few more days – and nights – on the bounce and that would be different but the shorter period meant that it would be fine.
However, I did know that it would be a challenge and that proved to be the case.
I fished with confidence, and that’s important because it means you fish better.
Sitting there, thinking to yourself ‘Why am I here?’ means you’re not in the right frame of mind.
Confidence, in itself, won’t put fish on the bank but without it you will struggle.
Anyway, was my confident approach rewarded?
Yes, it was but in the sense that I’m also realistic as well.
Was I happy with a few small roach? Absolutely.
