The story is set in 1880 as Oliver Lindenbrook, a geologist at Edinburgh University, accidentally comes across a message from an explorer.
It’s 300 years old but sets him off on a journey to the centre of the earth, or center in the film, as it is American.
Being tracked by the devious Count Saknussemm, they overcome him.
Travelling deep into the earth’s core, they eventually make it and they return safely.
