I was at work today and, after doing the press conference interview with Craig Harrison, I drove to the upper Severn.
The river is looking good at the moment and I went to a stretch that I’ve struggled on whenever I’ve fished it.
Even at dusk, there are no fish topping at all, not even small ones but I keep returning as I’m up for the challenge.
I fished with a quiver tip rod with a 1/2 ounce lead comfortably holding bottom.
I did have a couple of very slight taps but no sucked maggots.
Then, right at the very end, as I reeled in for the final time, a fish.
A specimen in its own right, as well.
My only regret is that I didn’t have my mini scales with me.
