Davy Crockett: King Of The Wild Frontier, three phases from the life of the American folk hero

A 1955 Disney film, Davy Crockett: King Of The Wild Frontier is a splicing together of episodes from the popular television series from that decade.

The series also ran later, and in the UK as well, and I can recall watching it as a child and I remembered the musical interludes when they came up.

The movie covers three phases in the life of Davy Crockett.

It might be a film but there’s a lot of history in there.

The Creek Indian War, then his time in Congress and finally, the Alamo.

Davy Crockett is played by Fess Parker and his best friend is George Russell, who is Buddy Ebsen, of Beverly Hillbillies fame.
