I find that, combined with 4lb line, it certainly doesn’t deter smaller fish but in the event I do strike into something bigger, I’ve got more chance of landing it.
On this occasion I didn’t catch anything particularly big but always remember that fish sizes are relative.
From a small pool, a few of the roach were quite decent.
I was watching a kingfisher diving from overhanging branches but I didn’t see it catch anything.
A pair of ravens passed overhead as well, making their distinctive ‘cronk’ sound.
