Christmas Rhapsody is a short film (as well as being descriptive, that’s what they were called) from 1948.
It’s the story of a small tree, as told by the tree itself.
Overshadowed by the bigger ones in the forest, it constantly refers to itself as ‘I am small and of no account’.
Then one day, it gets noticed, and after being chopped down, ends up as a Christmas tree in a family home.
I think digging it up would have been more appropriate, as a happy ending, as it could have been planted again in the family garden after Christmas.
