Come on England and thoughts on women’s football

Then, when I began my involvement with The New Saints, nine seasons back, that extended to TNS Ladies, who are now known as The New Saints FC Women.

I enjoyed covering games involving TNS and they were all done on a voluntary basis, beyond my initial responsibility with the men’s first-team.

Women’s football comes in for criticism in some circles, regarding quality on the pitch.

As far as I’m concerned though, it’s great to see girls enjoying football at whatever level they play.

  1. As you know I’m not a great (well, TBH, not at all) fan of football, male or female BUT ladies T20/T100 cricket is another thing … I love it and even video it if I’ll be out when its televised although gents cricket excites me as much as football. :)

    1. I’ve only ever been to one game of cricket, Yorkshire v Warwickshire at Headingly.
Bob Willis bowled and Martyn Moxon opened, that’s how long ago it was.

It’s great to see women enjoying what were seen as traditional men’s sports.
