I could see sticklebacks, which is what I was after, but they could also see me.
The brook I fished is tiny at the best of times but with the recent lack of rain it’s a trickle.
I did blank, the fish just weren’t up for it.
One fish did take the maggot though but as I lifted it from the water, it came off.
