Before I set off this morning (I was up at 6.00 a.m.) I watched the birds in the garden, while I drank my first cup of tea of the day.
We had four greenfinches on the feeding station, which was great to see.
No finches while out on the bank, but I did have a song thrush land just yards away from where I sat.
In addition, there was a calling stock dove in the area.
