There are times in angling when you just know it’s going to be tough.
I find that particularly so with lure fishing.
Even after just a few casts you sense that even one fish, especially if it’s a short session, will be a bonus.
That was the case for me this evening.
No nibbles, no evidence of feeding predators, no fry scattering.
In fact, the pool had the overall feel of a piscatorial graveyard.
