I saw my first butterfly of the year – a small tortoiseshell – in March, before the weather returned to winter.
With things picking up again recently, I’ve caught glimpses of a couple in flight, but not good enough to identify.
I was really thrilled to see my first ever cormorant from the garden though, as one flew over.
That’s my 36th tick this year. I add most in the first three months and then it’s more of a trickle.
I’d love to make 50 though and I don’t see why not.
