Today’s angling session was another late afternoon visit to a local pool.
I stayed with the same approach that I went for recently, in terms of 4lb line straight through to a size 14 hook.
I didn’t catch any perch, however it didn’t put the roach off either.
What did deter them though was the constant attention from predators.
They proved to be quite a problem but, as the heading states, in spite of pike, I caught roach.
You can comment on the post below. I look forward to hearing from you.
The tackle used was as follows:
Greys Prodigy 12’ rod and a Shimano 3500 reel loaded with Maxima Chameleon 4lb line.
The float was a 0.6g Drennan Crystal Waggler.
The hook was a Drennan Super Specialist size 14 with two white maggots.
I fished 1.5 rod lengths from the bank in 3/4 feet of water and fed sloppy brown crumb and loose maggots.
