As always, the media work ahead of Barry Town United v The New Saints began several days before the game itself.
On a personal level, that included writing and publishing the match preview and interviewing head coach, Anthony Limbrick.
With the JD Cymru Premier MD16 fixture on the Saturday afternoon, that meant we travelled to Cardiff the day before.
The overnight stay, at the Mercure Hotel in the capital, will be my final football-related night out of the year.
The game itself ended 2-1 to The New Saints.
Off to a great start in the fourth minute, when Danny Redmond struck home from outside the area, Jordan Williams doubled the lead eighteen minutes into the second period.
Seven minutes later, though, and the home side were back in it.
However, that’s how it ended, as The New Saints went twelve points clear at the top of the JD Cymru Premier.
Following the game, I interviewed Anthony Limbrick, TNS’ head coach, and Jordan Williams.
Just as we began our first interview, most of the floodlights were turned off, as you can see from the light levels.
I also recorded a behind-the-scenes video from the day itself, up to when the players came on the pitch, ahead of kick-off.
