It was my second visit to Cardiff City Stadium in four days, as once again the Wales team took to the pitch.
Another World Cup qualifier, this time Belgium were the visitors.
When they went 1-0 up you could be forgiven for thinking the worst. However, a reply from Kieffer Moore was how the game ended.
Born in Torquay, the striker is one of many Englishmen who qualify for Wales courtesy of a parent or grandparent.
He’s even played for England C before switching his international allegiance across the border.
The 1-1 means Wales is now seeded in the play-offs draw, which will be made shortly.
It means I’ll have another home game in March. I do love the Wales matches very much indeed.
My Welsh heritage is important to me. The land of my fathers. Indeed.
My travelling companion was Scott Ruscoe, the ex-TNS FC manager. It was great to catch up with him.
Talking of C internationals, he’s played for Wales himself and I actually have one of his shirts on my wall at home.
We only just made kick-off as well, getting to the seats just as the players were coming out.
Considering that we left Oswestry at 3.00 p.m. that was a journey in excess of 4.5 hours.
It wasn’t any better on the way back either, with major delays on the M4 and the A49 closed at Church Stretton.
It meant, that from leaving the stadium to finally arriving home was a journey of 5.5 hours.
I pulled up on the drive after 3.00 a.m. A long but blessed day.
