I’ve struggled of late lure fishing but tonight, as the lead image and the heading suggest, hopefully I’ve turned the corner.
I had half an hour on the Staffs/Worcs Canal but pretty much had people talking for the whole time, so the accompanying video is quite short.
I caught the solitary perch on a 2” rubber fish and a 1g jig-head.
I was fishing near a lock and it took the bait right at the edge. The fish may have followed the lure from elsewhere or it may have been close anyway.
You can’t always say but what is true is that you do get many takes during the final moments before you lift the bait from the edge.
