Reservoir Fishing – Live Blogging

4.30 p.m.

You can never have too much of a good thing and I’m out fishing for the second time today. I’m on an undisclosed reservoir and you can watch the introductory video here.

5.00 p.m.

Nothing yet, but generally speaking it’s a quality over quantity venue. It’s also huge and the fish aren’t wall-to-wall.

5.30 p.m.

A couple of bites but no fish as of yet. The first was a succession of four very gentle taps which I waited to develop. I should have struck.

The second was a single bounce on the tip that went no further.

6.10 p.m.

Off the mark with my target species

6.45 p.m.

Action all the way with half a dozen similar size perch one after the other. One was taken by a pike as well, that let go after a couple of minutes.

7.00 p.m.

Constant action with fish of this size almost immediately as the bait hits the deck

8.45 p.m.

I chose the wrong session to live blog! From the first fish it was busy right through to the end. In addition, the perch were excellent size as well.

I fished double maggot over brown crumb and loose maggots. I’ll be back on the reservoir again shortly, so as they say, watch this space.
