Three Months In And Two New Birds And A Bat For The Garden Nature Blog

As we say farewell to March, I’ve added two new birds to the list, making it thirty-two so far for the year.

The warm weather means I’ve been working in the garden, so more scope than just looking out of the window.

I spotted a pair of mistle thrush perched on a neighbour’s aerial.

Then, another aeriel bird, a pair of collared dove. Since then I’ve seen more birds around the area.

Tonight, on the final day of March, I took my Batbox in the garden beyond dusk. Just one brief sighting, a common pipistrelle.

The lead image is a dunnock, captured by my wife in the garden. They look like drab, brown birds but in reality they are anything but boring.
