Hello, Let’s Go Fishing

It was a cold start to the day, as you can see from the lead image. That’s my car windshield, prior to scraping and setting off to the local canal.

I’ve got another week on the Staffs/Worcs Canal before (hopefully) I can spread my angling wings further afield, if the lifting of lockdown restrictions go to plan.

Not that I’m complaining though, I’m enjoying the sessions and they work well around what’s going on in my own life at the moment.

Did I catch this morning though? All is revealed in the video below.

I fished with a Greys Prodigy 12’ rod and a Shimano 3500 reel loaded with Maxima Chameleon 4lb line.

There was 5 feet length of 2lb 8oz Ultima Virage fluorocarbon joined by a loop-to-loop knot.

The float was a 0.6g Drennan Crystal Waggler. The hook was a Drennan Super Specialist size 18.

I fished the boat channel, with brown crumb and mixed maggots and single white maggot on the hook.
