It’s been a lovely day today and I finished it off, well certainly as far as the hours of daylight are concerned anyway, with a trip to the local River Stour.
The river looked good, and after spotting a very good chub topping in the area on my last session there, I decided to go straight through with 4lb line.
In the couple of hours that I was there today, I had numerous roach taps on the quivertip rod. Could I hit one of them though? No!
I kept going till I could hardly see any longer but in the end had to accept ‘defeat’.
Still, I’ve had my first bites of February, so I’m getting there!
I’m convinced I’ll catch my first fish of the month tomorrow, so as they say, watch this space!
