Following The Black Country Derby, Fishing On The River Stour

Following the big Black Country game, which was live on TV, I headed for the local River Stour for an hour or so fishing up to dark.

You can follow the session via the video below and one verbal typo that’s in there, I started blogging the first Saturday of July 2003, not the first Saturday of the year.

I fished with a 9’ John Wilson Masterline Debut rod and a Shimano 3500 reel, loaded with 4lb Maxima Chameleon.

Via a loop-to-loop knot, there was a section of 1lb 6oz Ultima Virage fluorocarbon.

The lead was a 1/4 ounce bomb, with a size 6 shot and 5mm bead. The hook was a Drennan Super Specialist size 18.
