Two Angling Sessions In One Day, You Can Never Have Too Much Of A Good Thing

After a short brook trip in the morning after sticklebacks, it was canal fishing for perch to end the day with, as far as fishing was concerned anyway.

The water temperature was 11.3C, which is slowly falling, with the last two canal visits showing 11.5C and 11.7C.

I fished with the following tackle: John Wilson 9’ Masterline Debut rod and a Shimano DL2500FA reel.

The reel was loaded with 4lb Maxima Chameleon and this went straight through to a Drennan Super Specialist size 16 hook, which was attached via a blood knot.

A size 6 Dinsmores shot and a 5mm ESP shock bead created the six-inch hook-length, with a 1/4 ounce bomb above the bead.

I fished with one / two maggot(s) over maggots and brown crumb.
