On another short session, this time fishing a lake, I caught perch and roach. Nothing big but all good fun and ultimately that’s what angling should be.
I also introduced a trailer into the video. I’ll do a separate blog entry on that, so watch this space.
I fished with the following tackle: Fox Barbel Specialist 1.5 test curve rod and a Shimano DL2500FA reel.
The reel was loaded with 4lb Maxima Chameleon straight through to a Drennan Super Specialist size 14 hook, which was attached via a blood knot.
A size 6 Dinsmores shot and a 5mm ESP shock bead created the six-inch hook-length, with a 1/3 ounce flat lead above the bead.
I fished with a single / double maggot on the hook and fed balls of brown crumb laced with mixed maggots.
When possible, fish to features, and on this occasion I was casting alongside lilies, as per the lead image.
