Early Morning Canal Angling Session, With Three Species On The Bank

Working from home today, although I didn’t set the alarm, I was thinking of an early start. With my mind already prepared, I was awake naturally and ready to go anyway.

I was surprised to see two very early boats but, as I say in the video, it’s not an issue. They certainly didn’t affect the fishing at all.

I caught numerous perch and a single bream and roach in the hour and a half that I was there. When you have a busy life, short sessions are the way to go.

The rod I fished with was a 12’ Greys Prodigy TX and the reel was a Shimano DL2500FA, loaded with 4lb Maxima Chameleon.

Joined by a loop-to-loop knot, there was a two feet length of Ultra Virage fluorocarbon 2.5lb line to a Drennan Super Specialist size 14 hook.

The float was a Drennan 3BB crystal waggler. I fished with double maggot on the hook over brown crumb / loose maggots.
