Not only do I work in football, and watch it as a fan, but I also enjoy playing the beautiful game. My latest match was under the lights in the Black Country, which as always, I enjoyed very much.
I’m fifty-eight in three months time so I shouldn’t really be on the same pitch as late teenagers and those in their early twenties. However, I’m not there just to make up the numbers but to compete on a serious level.
More of that in a future blog entry, but I’m currently on a weight-loss and keep-fit programme, that is working very nicely indeed.
The lead image is a few years old and was taken on the pitch at Park Hall, the home of The New Saints FC, by our official photographer, Brian Jones.
Like the vast majority of players, I have never been anywhere near the professional level, but I get as much pleasure as anyone regardless of where they are. That’s what it’s all about, enjoyment.
