I’m certainly not afraid to talk about the times in angling when the going is tough, as a couple of sessions on the canal after bream both produced blanks. They were different spots, and just short trips, and the first one in particular was ‘snag city’ so was always going to be difficult.
However, it was a case of ‘third time lucky’, as they say, because I managed a single bream on that outing. I must say though, that I don’t believe in luck. While there is always that element of the unknown, so to speak, ultimately whether angling or life, it’s about making the right choices and getting the correct results.
