☃️ Welcome to December
As I adhere to the meteorological calendar– which is as easy as it comes in terms of categorisation of the seasons – I got my winter fishing underway with an early morning start on December 1.
If you’re an astronomical devotee then you have three weeks to go before we finally say farewell to autumn. December 21, to be precise, which is the shortest day of the year and also known as the winter solstice.
Ironically – and this sums up the British weather perfectly – it was cold and frosty yesterday morning (the last day of autumn), while today (the first day of winter) it was very mild, wet and windy.
Whether you’re an astronomical or meteorological person though, either way it’s the first day of December. I can’t believe how quickly the year has gone. Mind you, time flies when you’re having fun, as they say.
I don’t know about you, but I’m looking forward very much to the month ahead. I think it’s true to say that Christmas is the reason why. The good thing, as well, is that it’s more than just wishing your life away for one day. You can appreciate the build-up.
