📲 The blog 🎣 An afternoon angling session on a pond
Although this is my second day back home, I’m still catching up with a lot of things. It’s not a stressful experience though, just the reality of being by on holiday for a week.
As I’m retired anyway, it’s much different compared to returning to work with a thousand emails to answer, or a file full of documents to deal with. Very different.
One thing that has taken up a lot of my time though in the two days is my blog. I don’t make posts or videos public when I’m away – for obvious reasons – but I do get them to the publish stage.
Unfortunately, the internet strength where we stayed was not very good at all, especially as the videos are now ten minutes or more. That’s something I’ve been doing of late.
The bottom line was that I had several videos and hundreds of clips on my phone when I got home, in addition to the posts themselves.
I’ve got there now though. As far as blogging is concerned however, it’s always been a pleasure and never a burden. It’s not been an issue but, nevertheless, it’s nice to be back on track.
Today’s angling session – there’s always one of those – was back on the pond where I was yesterday. I wouldn’t normally go there on a pleasant Sunday afternoon, due to the disturbance of people walking through the area, but I chanced it today.
It wasn’t too bad. Certainly not as quiet as a rainy midweek day but I have known it worse. A lot worse!
The swim I fished is a few yards away from the path that people walk, so unless someone makes an intentional detour, it’s fairly quiet.
Not that I mind having conversations with passers-by, because I don’t. It’s just that when you’re fishing close to the bank in shallow, clear water that it isn’t always conducive to good angling.
Especially so when people are standing at the water’s edge, excitedly waving their arms around and shouting, ‘I can see some fish, look at them!’, or something similar.
I don’t react but, back to my original comment, I prefer to avoid a day like today. As far as the fishing itself was concerned, I was there for a couple of hours and caught a few. I didn’t lose count this time though and they’re all in the video. Visit the home page.
