You don’t always catch big fish

I’ve been doing a lot of small pool angling sessions for a while now and, especially since the water temperature has increased overall, it’s been great to get amongst bream and tench in particular.

However, the term ‘needle in a haystack’ comes to mind, when I think of the challenge that these species have presented on the places I’ve fished.

You don’t exactly turn up and have the fish queuing up to be caught.

More often than not, you don’t get one on the bank at all.
