I’ve enjoyed my small pool sessions of late, with float-fished maggots producing lots of perch and roach.
Sticking with the venue-type, I changed the target and approach for this session, when I went for tench with quiver-tipped corn.
One of the things that I do when I’m fishing is to stay switched on to what’s going on beyond just my initial focus.
It may be that I spot something in the water, or I may actually catch a fish that I didn’t set out to, but either way you store these things in your mind for the future.
That was the case on this venue, when I caught a tench some time ago while after roach.
