Some ice scraping before fishing, more ring-necked parakeets and battling the bank holiday traffic on my way to the capital

Although the days are pleasant at the moment as far as air temperature is concerned, the nights are indicative that it’s not exactly full-on summer just yet.

That was the case Friday morning, when I was scraping ice from the car windshield before I could go fishing.

I was up about 5.30, just as dawn was beginning to break.

Regardless of the conditions, it’s always nice to be awake as the new day begins.

When I let my dog in the garden the birds were in full flow, with blackbirds the dominant voice.
