I’m not interested in modern horror films but, a 1968 movie starring Christopher Lee (Nicholas, Duc de Richleau) is the right side of the line.
The Devil Rides Out (top right image) also stars Charles Gray as Mocata, Niké Arrighi as Tanith Carlisle, Leone Greene as Rex Van Ryn and Patrick Mower as Simon Aron.
Nicholas and Rex realise their friend, Simon, has become involved in black magic and they set out to rescue him and Tanith from the clutches of Mocata.
It’s a classic good v evil encounter and, in the end, the former wins.
