From the year I was born, Out Of The Fog is a British black and white crime thriller from 1962.
George Mallon (played by David Sumner) is an ex-convict who becomes the chief suspect when a number of young blonde women are murdered.
The police set him up with a policewoman as they try to trap him.
The two of them go across the flats, the area where the murders have been committed, at night in the fog.
The killer attacks the policewoman, then George fights him off.
When the police arrive they think it’s George and the other man takes advantage of that by saying he was protecting the woman
Then the scratches on his face are seen, which proves George was innocent.
