Church this morning with a football-related message, it’s ok to lose a battle as long as you win the war

However, in the case of The New Saints when you look at the big picture, it’s not so gloomy.

With nine games to go, there’s a lead of fifteen points at the top of the table and the club has scored considerably more goals than anyone else and conceded fewer.

If the club goes on to win the Cymru Premier, on the day that the trophy is lifted, the champagne is sprayed and it’s live on television, I doubt very much whether anyone is thinking to themselves, ‘but we lost to Cardiff Met’.

In life, we do lose the odd battle here and there but the important thing is to go on and win the war.

I doubt whether anyone who is going through a great time, they’ve landed the dream job, got their first home and booked an exotic holiday for later in the year, has on their mind, ‘yes, but fifteen years ago I found a two-inch scratch on my car’.
