It wasn’t one of those sessions where the water is so clear that you can see everything that’s going on beneath the surface.
Nevertheless, I was still fishing quite close in, about four feet from the bank.
As expected, it wasn’t exactly action all the way, but I still had plenty of strikes as the float sailed away due to lots of small roach in the swim.
It was also a short session as well, which is the way to get more fishing in.
Even in my semi-retired position I haven’t always got the time – or indeed the inclination – to spend a substantial number of hours every day at the water’s edge.
