The Ghoul, a horror film from 1933 when scary was very different to what we see today

It almost didn’t make it though, in terms of preservation.

Considered lost, a poor quality copy surfaced in Czechoslovakia in the sixties.

Then, a couple of decades later, the version I watched on TPTV Encore was discovered at Shepperton Studios in England.

The movie also stars Blackburn-born Kathleen Harrison, who featured in many films during the thirties, forties and fifties.
