If you follow my angling posts on a regular basis, then you’ll know that on numerous small pool sessions I’ve made after perch and roach, I’ve been ‘plagued’ by pike.
I use the word in inverted commas because I don’t like to think of anything as a nuisance fish but sometimes there are species present that you wish weren’t.
I have been intending to return to a particular pool anyway, to test the pike potential properly.
Without doubt, my favourite method of fishing for pike is with a float and that’s exactly what I did.
The rods were already set up and all I needed to do was to adjust the power gum knot to the much shorter depth than my last session, put a bait on and cast out.
