Thoughts on the weather and fishing, this morning’s angling session and a visit to the tackle shop to stock up for the next outing

How much attention, as an angler, do you pay to the weather forecasts?

I think we have to be aware of what’s on the horizon because we can adjust our fishing plans accordingly.

For example, at the moment, the recent heavy rainfall has seen the River Severn spill its banks in places.

So, when you see lots of rain predicted, you know it’s a good idea to give the river a miss.

Likewise, if strong SW winds are forecast, a particular pool you intended to fish, due to its location, might not be a good idea.

The one thing I would say though, by all means tailor your fishing around the weather but don’t allow it to stop you from going.
