It was nice to see a flock of c50 lapwings pass over the pit as I arrived.
They’re not as common as they were when I was younger, when you saw regular huge flocks in the winter, so always good when they put in an appearance.
Unfortunately, the fish didn’t show, not even a sucked maggot.
They’re active enough in the summer months but devoid from where I’ve been fishing in the winter.
I can only imagine they’re shoaled up in large numbers.
If only I knew where…
