Two calling ravens in flight early this morning.
Two nuthatches on the feeding station at the same time.
January 9
Coal tit visiting the feeding station, taking a sunflower heart off to eat it and then returning.
January 10
First wrens of the year, two birds on the patio.
They love to feed among the pots.
January 11
The long-tailed tits continue to visit several times a day, as they do during the winter months.
Always difficult to count the full number because, while some of them stay on the fat block, the others take a sunflower seed heart and disappear in the hedge to eat it.
Did count 12 birds though.
January 12
Up to 24 garden birds for the year, with a collared dove feeding on the lawn this morning.
This was followed by a common buzzard, mobbed by two carrion crows above the eastern ridge.
Five dunnocks feeding beneath the seed feeders.
